MT. YUWAN SUMMIT & HERITAGE TREK

Mt. Yuwan Summit & Heritage Trek

Embark on an unforgettable journey to Mount Yuwan, Amami's highest peak and a World Natural Heritage site. Your adventure begins at the stunning Koura Waterfall, fed by the mountain's pure waters. From here, transition into a trek through the dense rainforest, alive with vibrant, endemic flora and fauna.

As we ascend, immerse yourself in the misty cloud forest, home to rare species and rich biodiversity found nowhere else on Earth. Upon reaching the summit, take in panoramic views and visit Amami’s oldest shrine, where you'll gain unique insights into the island's history. The descent follows a scenic boardwalk and a short drive to explore an ancient forest site, once used by early villagers for food storage and hunting.
